CAMP FIRE NIGHT

Mike Erdie has been telling stories all his life and for the last 10 years he has been telling
stories around the campfire including the Lawrence Nature Center on August 26th, 2014 at the last program of the Family summer Nights events for this year. Mike is an accomplished blacksmith and also an artisan he makes Appalachian brooms by hands. It was a beautiful night. Mike prepared the campfire before he stared telling  his favorite story  "fishing on ice at the Colonial Lake", the children and the parents listened very intently to the story while enjoying toasted marshmallows and popcorn from the fire with one of Mike’s popping corn maker.

There were nearly 50 in attendance on the final night of another successful year of the Family Summer Night series.

Deck project

The Friends of the Lawrence Nature Center want to thank the HDR Young Professioal Architects for their design and help building the wonderful deck at the Lawrence Nature Center. Also a big thank you to Bert Nini who provided countless hours of volunteer time to make the long awaited deck a reality. This deck will serve as an extension of the Nature Center and provide greater opportunities for programs, activities and observing the beautiful surroundings.
